I was looking at buying a Samsung 2232GW. Right now I can get one for R2400 from PC Zone. However, I only need it at about the beginning of December. So, to get to the point, will this monitor rise or decrease in price by December with regards to the exchange rate?

Good question, seymour. I was just starting to consider 22" LCDs, then the rand went down the toilet, but i see that today it made a major recovery and is at R9.80 to the US$.

Was thinking of getting perhaps the same as u, or the 2243bwx or maybe the 2253gw. Not sure of what the best prices are for them at the moment, havent done reasearch yet. Also am not that clued up on the latest w.r.t. specs of 22" LCDs. Will make some enquiries as I would love a 22" widescreen :)

Most likely discontinued by then. Sahara (The cheapest supplier of these AFAIK) is not bringing them in any more. I ordered one the other day, they only had 7 left. The 2253GW is now the same price. Ok ... I'm no PC zone ... but they selling for R2500 at me, and prob the same at a few other retailers.

Thanks all. I think I'll wait until December and then maybe have a look at the 2253GW or something else of a higher model than the 2232GW.

Looks like the Rand has gained some strength - the future might look good indeed! (lets hope)...
