After the somewhat unexpected expenses last month I am glad to announce that R 3320-00 was raised through donations and advertising. This covers nearly halve of the bill from last month. The rest can be covered through advertising over the next few months. A big thanks must go to all the members who generously donated money towards MyADSL. Most of you should have received an email from me regarding this donation, but if you were left out (some people did not give any references etc)…thanks a bunch! Any excess money generated will be used to pay for future hosting and improvements on the site. Since this is a ‘community’ website I will do my best to be as transparent as possible regarding finances. As I have always stated I see this as a website ‘owned’ by its members, and you will therefore have the right to make decisions regarding its finances as well… Here is a summary of last month’s financial activity:
Expenses during June:
Payment for previous hosting: R 7221-00
Payment for current hosting (MyADSL): R 990-00 (6 months)
Payment for current hosting (MyBroadband): R 990-00 (6 months)
Income:
Donations & Advertising: R 3320-00
Although this balance sheet does not look too healthy, I remind you that the hosting costs are covered for the next six months. There should therefore be very few expenses during this time and basically all income can go towards covering the costs from June.
