Oh my F**K. i just read the article on how much that developemont werker, gets paid. R11.14 million in one year. that is more than the frikken prime minister in Egland. Prob more than Mbeki. it is no wonder that ADSL is so expensive and Telkom is up to ***, i wonder what the people above him and below him get paid. This is an out rage. Any one interested should read the article.

If they fired the usless bastard, and distributed the money subsidising all our ADSL accounts, we would save R557 each. (That's assuming there are 20 000 ADSL customers - I could be way off, it's just a figure I remember).

I have sent the article to, so far, The Star, The Mecury, The Daily News, The bussiness report, the mail and guardian and the cape time. Hopefully at least one will print it and let it be known what Hellkom is doing.

He is not exactly the highest paid in the country (when compared to some other execs) but for the service the company renders he is surely overpaid!

Well i'm not so happy about the fact that I contributed to that amount.
We paying for that fatcat with the bulging pockets to screw us up the chutney locker! Two of the Yanks in Telscum got paid R16 million last year. Undoubtedly it's far more this year.

Man, I'm sitting here shaking my head.. honest. Getting pretty moedeloos now.

Hi guys

The situation is quite unnerving. Increasing profits in a monopolistic market is basically as easy as raising the cost of services. This in return makes shareholders happy and the CEO and the rest of management get exorbitant bonuses. I guess there is a good reason why this kind of situation is illegal in the US and other markets…

Yeah - says a lot about adherence to corporate governance principles, too - at the very least, those responsible for what amounts to nothing more than criminal corporate activities and rape of the public utilising a state agency should have their **ses fired...

It takes quite a lot to get me angry, but when I read this article earlier today I was infuriated! To think that I battle every month to pay my ridiculously high ADSL bill just so that Mr Fat Cat and the rest of the Telkom monkeys can get richer. It's criminal!

Once again, Black Empowerment fails.
Here we see a classic example of too many Chiefs licking up massive salaries and too few Indians. In fact, Telkom's plan is to retrench [Indians?] staff over the next few years.
Well, if they got rid of a couple of the fat cats, then they wouldn't have to retrench staff.
Too much money in too few people's hands!

I ws wondering with MWEB being so big, you would think they might be inclined to launch there own wireless or landline company. Maybe the upfronyt is too much. any company coming in though has use of the current infrastructure though.

Telkom you are pulling us back more and more each day, we are not even part of the global village, we are all sleeping the the trenches of the digital divide.

It's just sick. Maybe if Telkom was one of several competing companies, and they found the cash somewhere to pay their top dogs those sums, while keeping above water, well, good for them. But the fact that Telkom is the sole telecoms provider and esentially a public service makes this disgusting, since there's no competition to prevent what is basically corruption.

Ahh the Gravy Train still running along nicely then.

Send the article to Carte Blanche or 3rd Degree. I would love to see him sqwuirm on telly, wuhahahaa[:D]

The gravy train has been around for ages. The Nats built the carriages. Its just their seems to be so many coaches been added on lately. I wonder if the Engine(SA Public) can keep up with the weight of all the extra carriages.
