Credit card charges to buy skype credit?

I have never bought skype credit before but was wondering what the charges are? I mean is it an international transaction fee with exchange rates or just like buying something locally?

Depends on Bank. However with PayPal you can have Paypal show you how many Rand it is debiting - that then correlates exactly with your bank statement later, ie PayPal can debit a $$ value in Rands or they can let your
bank do the processing for you. I know ABSA charges 2% for CC currency conversions otherwise.
