MultiChoice staffers probed over R11m fraud

They allegedly manipulated the billing system MultiChoice uses to collect subscription fees, and redirected funds into their personal accounts.

/start sarcasm

I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent spate of clients being overbilled and others being told that they are in arrears ...... sheesh

....accused of defrauding Africa’s largest media company of R11m, according to the group’s 2008 annual report...

Should read:

Multichoice accused of defrauding South Africa of billions in overpriced subscriptions.....

Should read:

Multichoice is broadcasting the biggest load of crap over and over again. They hop, skip and jump regarding the episodes of Mythbusters and Top Gear with no consistency at all. And then they show the crappest movies possible like "Nanny Mcphee" ... WTF!!!

Welcome to Africa, as they say. Land of Milking and Money.

If i understand it correctly it only happens with Debit-Orders?

This is one of the reasons i HATE debit orders...

Open a seperate a/c for debit orders to go through

Well i watched 7 soccer matches this weekend, cricket and rugby while my fiancee's little sister enjoyed the cartoon channel, all this for 500 bucks a month, i think its a good deal. Funny how people go on about dstv costing 500 bucks but have no problems drinking that out in one night :p

I can't agree more! :)

It looks like my account was one of them. As my debit orders have been going of and now today service is suspended and I get a sms from them saying that I am in arrears! Just waiting for my meeting to be over then I am phoning the accounts dept.

at least with drinking you are enjoying yourself and can control what you drink.
At least all this explain why we are paying 500/m for all this.
