ok its early and my brain hasnt kicked in yet but I just had a thought.

Does the act not say that only a company with an ecns licence may land a cable? if that is the case then the Altech ruling takes on a possible different light. muahaha. 600 new cable systems coming in. international at R5 / gig. Uncapped lines for R50.

I wonder if the fact that the cable is an under sea cable will stop "them" from stealing it to make trinkets :eek:

More serious, it's bound to happen, we might be behind but we need to get proper and cost effective bandwidth at some stage.

Don't forget we don't have enough competition to get uncapped for 50 bucks... anyways if i pay 300 a month for uncapped + 300 for rental, i will be happy, but I still doubt thats going to happen though! They will milk us, like they always milk us!
 
ok sorry if i don't sounds excited, we all heard this song and dance before. i hope this time round it's true, but not going to lose any sleep.
 
Last I heard Telkom acually owns one of the few boats that can lay under sea cables but are only renting it out to other countries in stead of creating more bandwidth for us.

To be fair, yeah we have seen this article already, however Seacon is not only talking, they have concrete evidence of their progress. They've yet to fail their June 2009 deadline.
 
You gotta love SEACOM & Tyco's marketing and spin department. They are doing a great job. I hope the 'cheap and plentiful' bandwidth lives up to the promises.

Hey I would prefer weekly updates stating that they are on track, rather than hearing nothing for months and then they announce it's going to be a year late !

Anyway so once the cables are here its going to take them another year spreading them about through GAUTENG:cool: then ill bla bla bla them again.
