I still do not understand this marketing ploy of favouring prepaid customers over contract customers....
Prepaid seem to get offered a lot of these sort of "deals". I suppose it is an indication of the country we live in. It would be interesting to get figures on how many Vodacom subscribers are prepaid and how many are contract.
what about your free minutes on contract?I still do not understand this marketing ploy of favouring prepaid customers over contract customers....

what about your free minutes on contract?
or your "free" phone?
or your free whatever when you sign a new contract?

MTN has been doing this for some time now.
Every now and again I get the message that I have received 1 or 2 minutes of free airtime - yay!![]()
Your comments have me equally confused... there is no such thing as a free phone!
All prices are comprehensively calculated by Vodacom to ensure you pay for it over the 2 years..... and have you never wondered why you get more ":free" minutes on packages you pay more for? They are not free.... they are included in the price!

Well I'm on TopUp 315
I pay R320 p/m : R320 x 24= R7680
I get R315 p/m worth of Airtime : R315 x 24 = R 7560
_________________________________________________
Add R220 of activation fee to R7680= R7900
R7900 - R 7560= Difference is R340
I received a Nokia N73, Something must have been free, unless the N73 is going to depreciate to R340 by next year June.
he will i get some i only get R12 airtime.
With the contract they have you by the balls. So they are guaranteed of that R7680 plus extras. With the prepaid they have no guarantees how much airtime you'll buy, you may buy less or go to a competitor. Don't worry -- they're not stupid and the phone is not free.
