Want to dual boot Ubuntu But....

Linux has most of the drivers built into the kernel, and what is not there is added as modules with the distribution. You do not need to worry about Windows drivers, except maybe for wireless, but that is getting better and better in linux these days anyway.
Games! Solitaire, Freecell. Yes. Crysis, hmmm. Some "Yes", still a lot "No". A lot of iD games, such as Quake, yes. Using Cedega, you can get the majority of games to run. I haven't really tried. Just dual boot back to Windows for the games. Rest of my life happens in linux. You're planning on dual booting anyways!

Sad to say but for serious gaming I still boot into Windows, although some games can work under Linux, I'm generally more productive in my Linux environment than in the Windows env. since I can't play any games 
No. Because for that to be able to happen you would have to boot both Linux and Windows... a real waste of resources in my opinion.
Linux can play some of the newest games on the market without any major hiccups, so I don't see what the issue is...

IMO, if not being able to play the latest and greatest Windows-only games is your main concern, I really can't see the point in installing Linux!? Not even dual-booting.
Windows works perfectly (sort of) for games that are written for Windows. Why change?
Edit: Maybe I'm a bit grumpy! It's just that I often read posts where I'm not sure if people are asking a question or trying to make a statement. FUD.
E.g.
1) Will I be able to run CAD?
2) Will my .doc files be formatted exactly the same as in Word? What about .xlsx, .docx, etc.?
3) Will I be able to run all of my Windows programs in Linux?
4) Will I never have to use the command line?
5) Will I have to learn something new?
... that sort of thing.
I don't know, maybe these are valid questions? I can understand the one about CAD.

Linux is just an operating system.. it supports games as well as Windows or any other modern OS.
The problem is that game manufacturers (mostly) do not choose to make their games compliant with Linux. - Linux does not need to change to work with games.. game developers need to change to work with Linux.
Wine is not really an option for hardcore gaming .. although it does work pretty good with some games, I played Call of Duty 1 and Medal of Honour Allied Assault (plus all the expansion packs for both of them) using Wine with no hassles.
The thing is people say its good and i was impressed with that desktop thingy(forgot what its called) with the bouncy folders and what notIMO, if not being able to play the latest and greatest Windows-only games is your main concern, I really can't see the point in installing Linux!? Actually COD4 runs on it too... and Far Cry 2...

froot - can you provide the min/ave/high fps for COD4 and Far Cry 2. Because they sometimes list games on Cedega for instance, but with a heavy caveat in respect to performance. You are making it sound as if Far Cry 2, a fairly recent release, has next to no speed issues on Linux. My experience of Linux over the last 4 years would make my initial position sceptical. but given your comments, i expect to see hard evidence to make me see Linux as a gaming platform as well.
