How can i change the mtu of my 3g connection?

Could anyone tell me if theres any way to change the mtu of my 3g connection?
i've checked all the settings - i think- and cant find anything! is there perhaps a 3rd party app? thx.

In Windoze, it is controlled via the registry: [searchforum]MTU[/searchforum].
