Hi guys,
Is there anyway to do this? I have searched the net and it seems that the problem is that there is no AV input available...has anyone got any ideas?

Edit: wat=way

Impossible. There is no video input on the Macbook nor on any laptop from what I understand.

Wow, that hardly makes it impossible, we do live in the 21st century ya know :p

There are a couple of fairly cheap devices for PC, such as the compro range, but unfortunately you're a bit more limited with a mac.

Pinnacle systems has a capture device that is mac compatible, but it's a bit more expensive.

You can have a look at it here

On the plus side you could also use it for recording anything from your gaming sessions to whatever you can plug into the RCA / S-Video ports and because it has a hardware chip it won't be very taxing on your laptop, provided you meet the minimum system requirements.

If you're willing to spend R1.5k plus to game on your mac I'll help you source it.

Hope this helps ;)

Sorry, forgot about the obvious choice

Another option would be the EyeTV device for mac, friend of mine uses it to play xbox on his mac.

hey thanks for the help. Keep em coming. Thought of the EyeTV option too. Thanks :)

Keep em coming????

What else do you want, those are the options :p

A way to pick up 16MB uncapped broadband for R300? JJ
Think the eyetv is the only way.

You can have 384k express uncapped for R999 or move to another country for better services :p

It's the EyeTV or the Pinnacle Video Captrure Device.

That's very clever, I didn't even think of this.

Where can one get an EyeTV?

Prollie to capture some in-game movies or summin?
Have you considered the Miglia TV Max? It seems to have the right inputs to plug in an AV device such as an Xbox, don't think you gonna get HD tho unless you can find a capture device for the Mac that has a composite video connection? http://www.miglia.com/

There are a couple fo retail outlets that sell it :-)

How much is this retailing for in SA? Looks exactly what I need. :)

Just watch out a bit for the lag. I remember trying this with my PS2 and some Hauppage card and while it worked and everything, the delay caused by it capturing the stream, processing it, and then spitting it out again made some timing-sensitive games unplayable.
