...no mention of networking across property boundaries tho.....and we still don't have any bandwidth to send all that 'voice' over...

I wouldn't worry too much about the bandwidth. Since mobile operators no longer have to buy their bandwidth from Telkom, they could go and buy a whole wad of it from somebody who sells it at a reasonable price. I expect that some time during the next few years, we might be making phone calls using VoIP over wireless internet connections.
 
If they do not buy it from Telkom, who can they buy it from? I am worried to say the least as I don't get the impression that they can provide their own bandwidth and lines...

And the property boundry thing IS important. We need to be free to communicate without a 3rd party when and where possible. Especially data connections!
