Looking to get something other than a Seagate 500GB

Get the Western Digital...

Im sh*tting myself, waiting for the day my Seagate 500GB 7200.11 is going to crash.
 
Yup ... me too. I need to get an external to back up my movies, music and photos. HDD is nothing I've never experienced or even thought about :/
 
Western Digital... if you can't get that, then Samsung or maybe even Hitachi. Do not buy a Maxtor.

Seagate & Maxtor ftl!

HTF can these ppl release Harddrives that crash after a couple of months :confused: Pathetic. That put me totally off those two manufacturers dont care how good a future product will be. That is complete incompetency. Unacceptable
 
I'm currently using a few WD 500GB Caviar "Blue" drives and they are great - no hassles, quiet, cool running, power saving, reliable - what more do you want... oh, and no firmware hassles :p
