Blood vessels/veins appearing...

Medical advice needed urgently please. I am freaking out.

Recently (last week), I can see blood vessels/veins appearing on my thigh, buttock area. It looks like circulation has been cut off. Veins/vessels can be seen in these areas and it looks much like the vein structure on a leaf.

It is widespread. I feel no discomfort and am not unfit. I weigh under 80kg and am 6ft something and male. Is there something I can refer to on google before I go to the doctor...?
 
It's not the time to laugh, but I must say your username is very apt :)

Why does it look like there is no circulation? Is the area discoloring?

I can see several lines of veins on my legs, backside, it looks like the vein pattern I would expect in a leaf. I can see vast amounts of long thin blue veins. I don't know what it is and im loathe to go see the doctor if its normal. I don't feel funny, I dont feel like i'm losing circulation, its just a guess and I'm worried.

Google images of varicose veins and spider veins. Once you determine which matches yours you'll have a better idea of the treatment involved.

I know that spider veins can be treated relatively painlessly by certain qualified beauticians and AFAIK varicose veins can only be treated by a surgeon.
 
Looks like spider veins. It seems to have appeared since I started exercising which was like 2 weeks ago. As I said before I am healthy, dont weigh too much but I was getting unfit so I started gyming and running etc. Perhaps its as a result of stretching or some such. I think i'll check it again in a month.

Go get it checked out. A quick trip to your GP wont kill you financially and could get you an hour off work at least.

Better safe than sorry
 
Post a picture of it. It's a tad difficult to say what it is from a description.

*Sigh* Go and see a doctor. Do not use Google to try and self-diagnose. Just go and see a doctor. Do not ask medical advice on a forum. Do not ask medical advice on the internet.

OMG, it looks like an infection of sorts ... :eek:

I think its due to the sudden uptake in exercise. I am loosing weight and toning up and I don't think my body has had time to adjust.

If you are developing stretch marks they are probably going to cause permanent scarring unless you treat them urgently. It might be a good idea to make an appointment to see a dermatologist as soon as possible to see what can be done to minimise the damage. It might also be advisable to cut back on your workouts in the meantime to avoid compounding the problem.
