can you send a regular email from Thunderbird?
Like one you compose & send without going into the drafts folder?

I have version 2.0.0.19 (20081209) and the double-click (or "Edit Draft") & send works. Only thing is it leave the draft there even thought it's sent

Yes i can send mail when i create a message, but sometimes i get a error, this dont happen all the time. What i also do is i change the server setting when i am at work to smtp.saix.co.za and home to vodacom..etc.I reinstalled this thunderbird like 12 times already and still i am getting errors.Sometimes the default outgoing server settings changes to the home account. If only things could be more simple to swap smtp server settings like a profile 1/2 settings:rolleyes:

You can try right - clicking the message and selecting "Edit As New", followed by sending it as you would normally.

You can create both smtp servers, and then just select which one to send from. Should save you editing the server settings all the time.

+1 there Nod
Go to Tools -> Account Settings -> Outgoing Server (SMTP) [on the left column]
Add as many SMTP servers as you like then go to your different account and select which one to use for each account on the drop down labelled "Outgoing Server"
