This BEE company Nexus is continually trying to throw a legal spanner in the works to stop the SNO becoming a reality. Nexus have given NO credible reasons for doing this.

Something is going on behind the scenes and I'll bet its Telkom's finger in the pie.

I hope investigative journalists follow this forum ... you guys need to start digging. Where there is smoke there is fire.

When a drone in a company part-owned by a Telkom director helps to stall Telkom's upcoming competitor you just know something is going on...

I heard rumours that something like the stalling of the SNO, and those rumours indicated Telkom would have 'help' in some form of individual or company involved in the SNO process, be it a bidder or some entity with some form of involvement. Just rumours though.......

Question is, do we really want people who are buggering the SNO process to actually get in - and run the thing?? Karl Socikwa has lots of plans and vision for the SNO and sees potential, I hope the rest of them do as well instead of trying to stall development and progress for South Africa purely for personal gain and the fattening of bank balances. May those people burn in hell(kom) along with everyone else who puts a higher value on their current account than the progression of a country. If only I could get my hands on them. SNO rage??? Yah, big time.

Mebbe somewhat of a conspiracy theory, guys? Whilst the situation does indeed give rise to a sense of uneasiness, there are ethical constraints that should preclude conflict-of-interest actions - if I understand it correctly, evidentiary proof of such actions could lead to disbarrment.
On the other hand, there may be some justification for investigation - MAD, seeing you're down in Cape Town, how about contacting Martin Welz of <i>nose</i>Week and asking him if this is worth a closer look, particularly as this is an issue of potential national interest and import?

Optis is a family-run company, and the structure of the business itself, being run by the 20-odd year old son (or is he even out of his teens yet) of the head of another stakeholder in the company.

While I nave no doubts that they have a lot of money to spend (obviously they are a business-minded and financially well-off family), I wouldn't doubt that the structure and relative dodgyness thereof contributed to Optis losing the bid. However, it would be interesting to see who their lawyers are.
