I just discovered I can trigger the flash off-camera, wirelessly, with the G9's built-in flash. Cool! Manual exposure is required on the flash, as far as I can work out. None of the TTL modes work at all - flash doesn't even fire.
 
i also triggered the flash off my ixus. i think any flash would fire the flash.
but say when you're using your flash off the camera and there's other people taking pictures at the same time, wont it also activate your flash?
 
Good question. When my replacement charger for my Cybershot arrives, I'll try it out. Not that I'd be using the flash in this mode while I'm out with my mates though...
