HP G7000 laptop vs Lenovo N200 laptop

If you could get only one and not taking money or cost into account which would you choose?

Having a debate with a friend of mine.
 
Both G7000's and N200's are available in various configurations. That would influence the choice.

Specs being equal, HP >> Lenovo.
 
N200: Pentium Dual Core T2390, 1x1 GB, 160GB/5400rpm, DVD±RW DL, Intel X3100, 256MB shared, 15.4" WXGA VibrantView , Modem, 10/100Mb Ethernet, Intel 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth, FPR, 6 cell, 5-in-1, XP Pro

To fill you guys in a bit, the fiance' needed a laptop. To further her studies so my HP G7000 laptop which I love and adore. She was eying it:eek:

I installed Vista on it, upgraded the ram etc. Then sold it to her:( (Sniff sniff I am missing it)

Now I am getting the N200 also second hand but at a good price like I did with the HP.

Was just wondering what you guys thought.

*Note when I live with fiance' I will be using the HP again* (Evil Laugh)
 
By the sounds of it both fantastic machines. I look forward to getting the Lenevo, girlfriend is happy with the HP.

So Cryptic since you have one of the Lenovo how do you find it

My Lenovo N200 [1.73 GHz Celeron] is just over a year old already. Works pretty well after I hiked up the RAM from the original 512MB it came with to 1.5 GB last year. I added more this month to get it to 3GB:D. Mine has Vista Home Basic.

Was painful to use on 512MB.

1.5GB was much better.

3GB is even better, and seems to have cut down my boot and shutdown times significantly over the 1.5GB.
 
I'm leaning towards the Levovo. I say this purely due to the fact that it has Windows XP and worst case you can spend 300 bucks and add another gig. It also have a bigger hard drive and by the looks of things it's got nice adds such as Bluetooth. Final point would be about build quality: Lenovo is like a tank.
 
Recently bought the Mrs a 3000 N500. Had it about a month now. Very solid machine. It feels very well made. Dont think you can go wrong with a machine like this. Only negative for me was 10/100 Lan as opposed to 100/1000 Lan, but that's a small issue.
