Hi Guys,

Does anybody know where I can get a couple of "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED" stickers? I'm building a system for one of our clients and I know his son likes to mess around with the PCs we build. The last PC died because the kid broke a transistor off the motherboard! This should give us a foot to stand on the next time they bring in the box and say we didn't build the pc correctly.

I’m in need of 2 of the sticker to place on the case. Anyplace that I can buy it online, or do I have to get it from a shop?

Here's my tip:
Print your own on sticker paper.... then cut a cross across it, so it breaks easily... make sure the stickers are small, and just cover the screws on the back.

But thats not all!!!

Get an odd colour'd nail varnish, and full the screw grooves with it... put the sticker over the screw once nail varnish is dry.

Tada - double protection.

Where can I get sticker paper? The boss wants a sticker, he doesn't trust the paint or nail varnish method.
Does anybody know of a print place that could help me?

Incredible connection for sticker paper, but you need to put thin cuts on it, so it breaks easily - and maybe a company logo, or something, so its not easy to recreate.

or just buy some nailpolish and paint it over the screws in a straight line.Be sure to use a nice colour that they cant get easily:rolleyes:
You will immediate see if someone tampered with it

Heres a better solution

get some labels and stamp them with your company stamp and use that as your warranty void sticker.

they wont be able to tamper with that or make duplicates

What warranty?

You cannot put a sticker like that onto a pc, because each component carries an individual warranty.

Someone I know was in a similar situation. After being told he didn't have a warranty because he removed the sticker, I phoned them asking how opening sticker can void a DVD-RW warranty.

Their response was that the warranty on the "complete" system is void, but individual components were still under warranty..
I'm laughing to this day about that.
They just wanted to make money by charging fees every time you want to clean out dust etc from your pc.

RS Components has them pre made.

Custom made can be done with a Brother "TZ Tape" label maker and their "security tape". Use a custom image from a PC, very hard to forge accurately.

Check the www.kemtek.co.za website.

Legally, this might prove more nettlesome than you imagine.
Individual components carry their respective manufacturers' warranties, and you might run into trouble with your client if you unilaterally try to void that simply because certain screws were removed. You might very quickly get a reputation for being unreasonably strict and find your client relationships in decline...

Our company now supplies tamper proof security stickers. They are holographic and have the word "genuine" or "secure" printed on them. We have a few different sizes as well. PM me if you need some. They range from 70 cents to R1.50. some of them are tear-proof and some tear-easy. Not the cheapest, but if you are resolved to protect the warranty on the machines, they will do the job.
