Washington - The Obama administration threw open the curtain on years of Bush-era secrets on Monday, revealing anti-terror memos that claimed exceptional search-and-seizure powers and divulging that the CIA destroyed almost 100 videotapes of interrogations and other treatment of terror suspects.

Lol you think they destroyed 92 videos with nothing on it?

Bush is gone. Even I did not like everything he did and the way he handled it. Especially tramping on people's freedoms. BUT, these are exceptional times... and the crazy extremist terrorists are bent on destroying the West at any cost. Today's attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team shows just how bloodthirsty and savage these guys are. I am quite OK with using exceptional means against these sub-humans. They started it. They do not deserve to live in peace anywhere on this earth. Hunt them down and wipe them out. Bunch of murderers they are.

Agreed, wipe them from the earth!

I think the "Patriot Act" implied that Bush was the patriot and anyone who disagreed with him was a terrorist! :p At least that was how it worked out in reality. Stupid, stupid.

I still think the smartest method would have been to wage an ideological and philosophical war against the Extremists.

It won't work with Extremists.
Philosophical war is necessary but not sufficient -- but only to win over the fence-sitters.

Fanatics are immune to reason, philosophy and argument. We do them and the world a favour by rapdily dispatching them to their 70 virgins, the soft-skinned boys, and puffy cushions.

understood, but the at least the ideological part should isolate and starve out their movements instead of giving them more cannon fodder.
