Uitenhage - A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his intoxicated 10-year-old niece in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.

Inspector Gerda Swart said the girl and her family were drinking alcohol when the incident occurred on Monday night.

"The girl, along with her mother, father, brother, sister, uncle and aunt, were having a party at her home in Thornhill, after her parents received their government grants on Monday," Swart said.

The girl fell asleep and awoke to find her uncle carrying her to the outside toilets where he pulled down her shorts and raped her.

"The girl then managed to escape and told her brother what had happened.

"Nobody did anything and the girl went back to sleep... The uncle then slept naked next to her, and undressed her in her sleep again."

Swart said the uncle's wife then found the man on the bed and called the rest of the family.

"The incident was reported to police and the man was arrested."

He would appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Swart said.

Firstly - it's the same bloody place as the story I posted yesterday, Hankey! From this thread - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=160805 where the police captain shot an intoxicated 17 year old in his car.

They certainly know how to breed them there, don't they!!??

And secondly: all I can say is WTF to the entire family! This poor girl, I really do feel sorry for her, considering the life she is being brought up in. The family get her pissed to celebrate getting their government grant (wtf?). Her uncle tries to rape her in the toilet. Her brother and the rest of the family do nothing about it when she manages to get away and alert them. They then let the uncle sleep naked next to her, allowing him to finish the job properly. Despicable!!

WHAT THE FSCK KIND OF PEOPLE ARE THESE!!!??? I have more respect for a piece of used toilet paper than for people like this! It is absolutely disgusting and I am ashamed to be a part of the same species as them, let alone nationality. The entire family needs to be arrested. The uncle for obvious reasons and the rest of the family for getting her drunk and as accomplices to the rape - then throw away the key ffs...:mad:

I really feel bad for this girl, i hope the long arm of the law can punish the family members who saw nothing wrong drinking with an underage kid. FTW, 10 years?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this town's name W.ankey and then they changed it? I remember something like this from waaaay back. :confused:
 
Wow! How much lower can we stoop? The mind boggles at what some people are capable of.

And I am in agreement, lets not politicise this.
 
I'd sooner save a monkey from poachers than try to rehabilitate this animal.
 
It's a sad sad world we live in. I don't condone kangaroo courts but I can appreciate the type of anger that would give rise to them...
