Hi

I have this NB610 where the Keyboard and Mouse is frozen when the battery is fully charged, but starts to work again when the battery is about 10% remaining. If I use a USB Keyboard and Mouse I can use the unit however the LAN and Audo Icons donot show up on the task bar and the notebook is somewhat unresponsive at times.

Yet let the battery reach it's 10% level and everything works perfectly.

What do I do?

Firstly, thank you for pointing me in the right direction with this problem.
I have removed the battery and am running the notebook on the AC adapter with no problems at all. Sahara are of no help whatsoever, so we must do what we can to sort out these sort of problems. W:Dhen I have more info as to why this problem occurs, I will contact you and exchange info with you.
Thanks and Regards,
Peter

Be Careful

Hey Peter

Just be careful running the notebook permanently without the battery in, you don't want to fry your charging circuit, what you can do in the interim, is once you done using the notebook, slap the battery in let it charge or discharge.

The general suggestion is to get the battery repacked. Will let you know how that goes.

Found a solution

Hey Guys

I finally found the problem. Here is the solution

Boot the notebook in Safe Mode, go to device manager and change the driver for the battery from Microsoft ACPI Battery to Microsoft APM Legacy Battery.

Reboot and everything else works except for the battery monitor, where you can use additional software to monitor this.

Interesting enough, when I did boot this unit with an external keyboard and mouse the battery was reportedly being depleted with about 2% life left. Usingthe alternate driver, I managed to get about an hour more life.

Hope this helps.
