Manned Camera's on N1 North and South during the day between Malibongwe and 14th Ave

Noticed since last week that they are trapping this part of the N1 in both directions during the day. I have seen them 4 times between beyers and Malibongwe northbound, where they park a white golf inbetween the two lanes, open the bonnet of the vehicle and sit in the bonnet, so you really can't see them. Also seen them numerous times sitting on top of beyers bridge to catch cars on the N1. Think this is all 80 zone, might be 100 somewhere, but just be careful...
 
Not too sure, also thought it a bit weird. Also, are they allowed to make it look like a car has broken down, and then hide in front of the car while the bonnet is open, making it impossible to see them?

This tactic probably causes people to slow down to see what's going on. So people who otherwise would be speeding slows down to get a look at the seemingly broken down vehicle (possibly in case it might be a hot babe in distress!)
 
I almost got caught by this camera on Monday, but was in the middle lane and traffic slowed for the construction, or maybe another vehicle. Had I been in the fast lane, I probably would have been on camera! :D

Many of these traps are dodgy, took my fines to court and won, 'cos they cuold not

produce all the operator certs. and prove that they had obeyed all the laws concerning

distances etc. How can one believe that the equipment is in proper working order if one

is not allowed to stop and check their trap. It is a RIPP OFF.
 
/ perfect example: Outside Rustenburg, got stopped by a cop for speeding, I was

tracking on my GPS, so had all the points and speed i was moving at i then asked the

cop to see his summons book and lo and behold 8 people before me were all fined doing

exactley 90 km/h and he tried to fine me for doing the same speed. When it was

explained to the idiot he very quickly ran away.

Are they required to show you their summons book when asked?
 
No! but if he cannot spell offer to do it for him.
