Diameter of Cantenna?

Does the diameter of the cantenna make a difference on signal strength? What I mean is, if I get a huge empty Ricoffy can, will the signal be weaker than a pringles can. And will the smaller diameter increase the signal, but the cantenna has to be more accurate in where it is pointed.

Does that make sense?

Yes, it does. But depending on the Signal frequency it might make it better or worse. There are quite a few sites that have more details around that. Just do a search on google [;)]
 
750g Ricoffy can is almost the perfect size (diameter and length), pringles or similiar needs to be much longer, due to the narrow diameter. LOL, just had this vision of an old style municipal metal dustbin mounted on my roof, might actually work well ROTFLMAO

You need to tune the cantenna dimensions to the relevant frequency- in this case nominally 2.5GHz. As an example, observe how there are 2 very different antenna types for VHF & UHF TV signals. Anyhow, check out ProAsm's antenna page at http://unreal.co.za/proasm/wireless/antenna.html
