SAIX makes OpenDNS work in South Africa!

SAIX have excluded the OpenDNS, www.opendns.com, IP Blocks from being directed to their netcaching appliances, hence ensuring that OpenDNS now works from the SAIX network.

For parents and company's wanting to block bad content and malicious websites this is fantastic and long overdue.

When will the other ISP's do the same ? Come on IS and others....! :D

Thanks Hennie at SAIX for arranging this. Its fantastic that SAIX have come to the party to help out with ensuring our kids welfare is protected on the internet.

For the newcomers to OpenDNS. It's simple to use set your DNS servers to 208.67.222.222
and 208.67.220.220

You can also register on their system, and configure their update client on your PC, this allows you even more control in that you can further block or allow certain classifications.

It's an awesome system.
 
Great news, as said above hopefully other ISP's will follow suit.
 
This is actually extremely cool. You will be able to do content filtering on network level, rather than doing it with a physical solution. Much reduced costs (actually completely free) and an added bonus is that ODNS is the safest DNS provider there is ;)
