I was thinking about this for some time now. What's the use of educating people (cynics and pessimistic people who spread negativity about this country) who will leave this country for greener pastures? What's the use of this country's government allowing professional cynics to be educated at our institutions such as universities even though 5 years down the line they will emigrate to Australia or the UK? What's the use of having our soon to be expatriates get a job and experience and then use that experience to benefit another country's economy instead of South Africa's economy? Wouldn't it be better for the government and the country as a whole to educate more true South Africans who will contribute to the economy indefinitely? Wouldn't it be better for the future of this country if the government introduces a law to stop companies from giving experience and jobs to people who will not in any way benefit the country?

No.

Government should focus on fixing the reasons that people are leaving rather than trying to control them.

? How do you propose this being done exactly?

That is what community service is for ;)

And completely agree with what Icyrus said. You want government to treat the symptom instead of the problem.

Its called Competition. If the industry and academia cant compete, then whats the point of them existing in the first place. Natural De-selection comes to mind.

How can you tell someone is going to emigrate somewhere down the road?
Don't employees benefit a company on a short term basis as well as in the long run?
Would I get a tax rebate if my kids weren't allowed to be educated because they might at some stage want to explore greener pastures?
Have you really been giving this a lot of thought?

I was educated overseas. Should Britain be educating people for the benefit of this country?

I understand why many saffas settle in Australia (lovely place, safety, first-world country...)

I am still amazed that there are some dummies who try to settle in UK, especially now.

So let me understand this - if someone gets an education they leave the country. That explains why you are still here. But what about me?

:D

What makes you think that they aren't trying to "educate more true South Africans" ? - have you seen the lack of interest and aptitude in subjects such as science and mathematics.

I've got an idea. How about the government decrease crime and drop fscking affirmative action so we can get jobs. Then maybe we will stay.

Even a retarded sheep can understand this but I guess not the ANC.

Exactly!

I was educated in South Africa which my parents PAID for, as did they when I went to university. I didn't know then that I'd be overseas now.

To the OP you have successfully won my a55hole of the day award.
