A sad day

So I'm sitting here now, its just after 4 in the morning and I can't sleep, my mind just keeps replaying an terrible thing that happened in our town yesterday. We've all lost a friend and a true role model thanks to crime.

In the early hours of the morning Shane Venter who's only 24yrs old drove to his house and disturbed a gang who were busy robbing his house. After driving into the property the robbers approached him and shot him in cold blood killing him instantly. They then took his bakkie and the only thing they took from his house was a television. After a short joyride in his car they dumped it and the car was found early yesterday morning.

He's gone now and we're all in shock. This is the first time in my life I've lost someone this close to home and he's not coming back. I keep thinking I could just meet him on the beach and have a chat but the fact is I'm never gonna see him again, neither will his girlfriend and family.

Just got so much running through my head right now that I've gone through a box of cigarretes in the last 2 hours and just fail to understand why and how people can be so cruel to kill for a television. Even my 10yo niece was crying today and kept asking me over and over why they killed him and I usually have an answer for everything but I just didn't know what to say to her :(:(

A lot of angry rhetoric has now been turned towards the ANC because everybody knew Shane, he was a legend and a good friend and he's gone because of what we perceive as a failed government. Jacob Zuma and his gang can rot as far as I'm concerned, what comes around goes around and the ANC will one day pay a dear price for their corruption.

Very Sad to hear that..:(. and it truely is sick that they have no regard for a persons life... over something so futile
Scum like these should be eradicated from the earth... quickly and by marshall law ;)
 
sorry to hear that. just another senseless murder in this country.

we had a similiar incident here in cape town yesterday when some guys walked up to a guy in his driveway and shoot him dead, steal his car and dump it somewhere down the road a little while later.
 
My aunt lives in Warner Beach. The stories I hear from her make it sound like a warzone. Just last week friends down the road from her had their car stolen.

You mention Zuma but how about the two previous actual presidents of the country. They're far more responsible for the current state of affairs.

Its becoming way too common place to get killed for nothing in this country...

Bugger it... if I find someone on my property who I haven't invited I'm putting them down... I'll ask questions afterwards.
 
Sorry to hear about that loss but as others have pointed out, you can thank our "great" previous presidents for the current state of affairs. The ANC government just don't care. That is the cruel truth.
 
I'm sorry to hear that dude. This country needs a massive wake up call and unfortunately it may not be in the way we can only hope for.

I hope for everyone's sake that things turn around. I hope they find scumbags likes those guys and stick them away in a dark hole without the option of parole.
 
I think the wake up call is going to come when the population turns around and starts fighting fire with fire... which we're already seeing small numbers of people doing..

If the guavamint can't make crime an uncomfortable thing, you'll find the population making damn sure its a V unpleasant thing...

I fear you may be right. Or we could all flee the country of our birth.

Lets hope the ANC begins to lose more and more in elections and become accountable for their actions forcing them to actually make viable changes in order to retain their voters. No wants a violent ending to this story!

To all who knew Shane Venter, sincere condolences.

With all the ****e happening with our judiciary lately, let alone Shane's story (of horror), time to look at where we are going politically/financially/security.

personally I am scared.

Even Fiji looks good

The country of our birth, we have failed it, and it has failed the people.

Just cannot see why "we" should fight this out.

Sad days indeed.
 
My condolences, I cannot imagine the heartache of his loved ones and friends.

Another senseless murder, anyone of us could be next
as this country reels under the weight of corruption, ineptness, cruel and fatal crime,
this is what is called hell on earth.

Typical SA PC, notice how the word robbers was used. Those mofos are murderous thugs, plain and simple. Just becuase they killed first and then robbed their victims does not makes them robbers. Savages going around killing then plundering, welcome to the 21st century Africa. The best we can do is emmigrate and move our tax base somewhere else, lets see what this gov can do when their resource runs out. Probably beg other countries for aid. Gud I hate this faking country, its a mission just to remain mentally sound here.

People made a big fuss about Northern Ireland during the "Troubles" ( quite rightly )

Here we live Northern Ireland EVERY DAY but everyone seems to think things are OpsNormal and A-OK --

they are in a way -- we live in a Schizophrenic society.


It is my firm belief that these "perps" are NOT your normal run of the mill criminal.

In all my experience and meeting MANY different black people I have NEVER experienced this type of callousness. It just is not normal ( in my opinion )

In case you think that I am talking more "gibberish" why not do yourself a favour and look up the history of the CIA's "School of the Americas"
where they trained all the Central and South American "Hit-Squads" .

Then ask yourself these few questions --

WHERE -- are the "journalist" interviews with the few perps that get caught

WHERE is the analysis --

WHERE is the testimony from these people about what they did and WHY they did it.

WHERE are the SAPS crime intelligence reports :confused:


Surely THESE are answers that everyone is looking for ,

WHERE ARE THEY :confused:

I drove to Hi-Fi corp this morning from my house and counted 3 "high-jack hotspots" signs on my way there. So what is SA and its leaders telling us? in the a high jack situation, drop dead like a good South African.
