Axxess: question related to package choice

Ok I have a 384 line and 6gb Internet at Mweb but every month I buy a 3 gb extra so this works out R789 and with Telkom its R941.

So What I want to know if I go to Axxess on the R999 package with my 384 line will it be worh it. When my speed gets lowered to 192 will I still be able to download and surf the net and at what speeds will I download?

Or must I just get the 4096 Line and Axxess instead. And at what speeds will I be downloading with here? And will I need to get a new Router if I increase my line speed I have a Telkom ADSL Router at the moment.

And do they Allow P2P downloads?

I have a 2G account with Axxess and I'm running at a full 4mbs. Only problem with me is that I bought a 626 topup package (R110) and it doesn't work on public holidays and today is a ph.

Personally the R999 package is fantastic for me. However, its best served with a 4mb line. That way you download the hell out of it at night.

The 192k limit i have during the day is fine. I can still download, browse and email happily. (Just not all at the same time...) (Download at 20k)
 
1st up - The telkom router should easily support up to 4Mbps, it should be able to do at least 8Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Most likely capable of more than that.

R135/month buys me an analogue Telkom line.
R259/month buys me the ADSL segment and 3 GB of bandwidth.
R25 buys me the Nightrider add-on (Allows 5x as much download during 1am-8am).
R21 buys me 3GB of capsaver roll-over.

That's R440 in total, and I can download 15GB if I schedule my downloads to be at night.

R189 buys you an additional 3GB of bandwidth, which can then again be used to download up to 15GB at night.

So for R629/month I can download as much as 30GB a month.

Then I can buy things like Axxess's 626 topup for playing games unshaped at night.

I'm also interested in getting the Axxess 626 service, but still want access to the net public holidays or when I'm on leave etc (i.e 6am-6pm weekdays). What is the easiest and best way to switch between different axxess services without the hassle of changing settings or logon details all the time. I have a dlink dir-655 router. Something tells me I should be able to do this by just clicking a button or two in the router???
 
My logins have the same password, so on my Netgear I log in, change the username and apply the settings. A few seconds later I'm connected on the new account.

Since the Netgear uses a web interface, it auto-completes the username just type the first few letters, and viola.

I thought cybersmart doesnt allow you to use other isp's in there terms of service dont they enforce this rule?

Not by the looks of things. I sent a fax of a while back to cancel my Cybersmart account and started using Axxess. I think they never got my fax or lost it as I saw my account was&is still active.

I have to say though that Cybersmart is really slow. Local gaming on Axxess has halve the latency of Cybersmart to saix game servers. For international traffic you can add 100+ms to cybersmart. They really did fall hard.
 
I think the whole "only one ISP" thing is mainly a clause to cut down on unnecessary support calls. It shouldn't be an issue otherwise.

Pings are slightly higher on Cybersmart.

Local gaming on saix servers for TF2 and COD4/5 is around the 80ms mark, while I get 30-40ms on Webafrica.

Slightly?

Gaming on SAIX servers the latency for Cybersmart is double that of Axxess semi shaped after hours. You can add 100ms+ for international latency on Cybersmart. They kinda went to the dogs after they stopped using SAIX. Still good prices though but everyhting is relative I suppose.
