Politicians warring for votes on the country's lamp posts are decidedly unhappy at attacks on their carefully composed posters by vandals wielding thick black markers, stencils, duct tape and spray-paint.

Er... I thought that was the ANC?

What I want to know is why they suddenly jump to the conclusion that this is the work of rival politicians and "dark forces" [swart gevaar]? It could just as easily be some silly teenagers or disgruntled citizens. The other parties express disappointment but the ANC immediately starts pointing fingers without a shred of evidence.

The DA has been subject to a large amount of billboard defacing and they don't blame opposition parties!
 
It sounds like a typical ANC reaction. I remember when the xenophobic attacks broke out, the were shouting "ted foss" (a.k.a. third force), even before reaching for their dictionaries. :D
