Vista + T400 + Company Policies

Why not load another OS if vista is a problem? Have you tried the latest drivers? vista blue screens when something is wrong so surely you must an IT guy who can fix?

just checked google for your problems and nothing comes up, who is looking after that laptop cause it sounds like they doing a piss poor job :p, ouch that laptop has ati graphics, must be dodgy vista drivers you got running. Also have you updated vista because the network bug was fixed along so to me it sounds like your laptop has been setup rather poorly with crappy drivers.

Update windows and update your vga drivers and see if this fixes the problem.

Don't know. Everything must be controlled by our IT department... including updates. They get installed via the network. If I was allowed to fix the problem myself, it would be sorted by now, and the PC would be running a lot faster....but these policies are insane. On the other hand, if you keep in mind that some of the users here can't figure winzip out, I do see why they're so strict. Nevertheless... it's annoying and really setting my work back.

I disabled the graphics card by switching it to the internal card, that lasted about a week... then it went back to the same problem.
