DJ off air for 'endorsing' Zuma

Suspended for standing next to a politician might be a little harsh but ...

"I was not aware that I was on TV, let alone standing next to Jacob Zuma, until people started calling me," said a disappointed Leope, referring to Sunday's Siyanqoba rally which was attended by more than 80 000 African National Congress supporters.
lying about it, surely he was doing more then just standing there. You'll have to be a first class idiot to not know you where standing next to zuma, especially with all his security and hangers on.

FFS, he was just standing there in the background.
or is there no freedom of movement and association anymore?

I think this is shocking, how would some dj's like getting fired for standing next to a DA person.

This is rubbish in my opinion. We are allowed to express our views no matter what other people think. Maybe we should all fire our workers for supporting the DA or COPE. How you guys find this acceptable is beyond me.

Freedom!!!!!! guess not.

Not fair when you think that Oskido also has come out and supported the ANC, and produced a CD for them nogal. Yfm just has beef with the dude, too much bad publicity maybe.

But I doubt they will suspend Oskido though.

I think this is a bit ridiculous.

So i can't attend a DA Rally in my own personal capacity as my company will be associated with DA? He wasn't there representing YFM. He was there representing himself. To suspend someone for having their own view is unconstitutional IMO.

Meanwhile, the ANC Youth League on Monday night demanded that Leope be reinstated with immediate effect.
Of course it not fair that he got suspended for supporting any party.
He (and his business partner) sponsored some guy (I'm not sure if it was Malema) during the ANCYL elections. YFM knows very well he is an ANC supporter.

Yeah, me thinks they are
looking for a reason to get rid of him
and thus far they keep coming up with nothing.
They probably regret the humungous salary they agreed to pay him
and clearly can't afford ro wait till the end of the contract.

I feel you only say that because it was an ANC rally. Would you have said the same thing had he attended a DA rally and stood next to Zille? I highly doubt it.

O the thread would be totally different and the cries of no freedom would come into play. can you just imagine the uproar that would have caused, this thread would be 5 pages long with people going on about freedom of speech and not.

Doubles standards are bad in this section of the forum :p

Isn't this the same DJ that crashed a stolen car?

Yes and no.

Yes it is the same DJ
No the car was not stolen...it was hired by his GF
That man drives expensive cars. AUDI and PORSCHE

same person... (not sure about the running away)
but that's probably besides the point in this topic.

I know I said that there wasn't much point in discussing this topic but my point is that this DJ person is pretty thick and it could only be a matter of time before he'd get axed from whatever job. I am, therefore, not surprised about what has happened and fail to see why there is even a thread about it.

But that's just my view.

He has quite a following...that's why Y-FM re-hired him after a stint at SABC.
