Proof of 3.1 Million houses Built?

Someone's mentioned that Jesse Duarte claims the ANC has built 3.1 million houses since they took over. Which is quite an achievement actually. I was wondering whether anyone has ever seen any documented proof of this?

The reason I ask is this:
3.1 mill houses
15 years
That's 206666.66 houses a year.
So tha tmeans they've built 566.21 houses a day every day for the last 15 years. To me this seems unrealistic, plus I find it very hard to believe the ANC is that efficient. If some one could clarify or at least make me see sense I'd appreciate it
My money is on there not being any proof at all and it's just a claim.
 
Well if you look at the size of these houses i cannot see why it is not possible.

The problem with the housing is the people who get given the housing rent it out and move back into their shacks. Not really the point of the housing but anyhoo.
 
I wouldn't question it, really. My domestic staff say they "will always vote ANC because the ANC gave them their RDP houses."

I'm guessing from some government institution, which sucks....
If they can't prove it surely the tax payers have a right to know where the money is that was set aside for it, or at least how much was spent on these houses and who the conractors were etc....

Some one in oppostition should actually query this as I'm betting if my suspisions are right, could be used to educate the "masses" as to how corrupt their government really is...

Ok I've seen some rdp houses in Alex when I was in Joburg earlier this year, they are small but can they build 566 of them in one day? Everyday 7 days a week, 356 days a year for 15 years... a bit suspect if you ask me.

That's exactly my point it should be questioned . I'm not denying that houses have been built, just the amount of houses.

By asking questions and asking for proof etc is making the government accountable...
 
As Zille said... all the ANC does is lie lie lie :D

When the NP & DP governed the WC.... about 3000-4000 house were built
When the ANC governed the WC........ about 2000-2500 houses were built
When the DA took control of the City of Cape Town... and the ANC fighting them "all the way"... they built over 7000 houses

Three things emerge here
1) How the hell can they build 3.1 m illion houses with such incompetence
2) Results in the WC prove that the DA could have done better had the ANC co-operated
3) With control over both the city & province... the DA is going to show them how to work... and I mean WORK... and with out cronies & corruption :)

I guess only the next 5 years will tell ... pity it has to take that long to find out... maybe 3 years... 1 for planning and red tape & 2 to building 10.000+ houses ;)

Logistcally maybe... how many blokes is it going to take to build 566 houses per day?


In actual fact, how many blokes will it take to build just one of those houses in one day?
IMO minimum 5 (I cant see it being less but I'm sure it would have to be more) don't forget the utilities and stuff that need to be installed etc as well...

So each day there would be 2830 okes working to build houses (according to my reasoning).

Not to mention getting materials etc on site.... it's not adding up IMO

Some one needs to ask questions. Preferably with Jesse inattendance, Zuma in attendance and the wolds media in attendance. With the radio clip where she states this as fact. Then it needs o be televised and eported in every single paper and politicians should use this as ammo to help educate the voters to show them how full of **** the ANC is.

That way Jesse can't say she didn't say it. If hey say they haven't then they need to be investigated, and Jesse sacked for misleading voters.

If this is the case, if there were posters claiming this exat amount to entice people to vote for them, the opposition should go to the constitutional court and ask for a re-vote. (I know, I know never gonna happen) :rolleyes:

None of it ads up.

Also, my personal irritation - with the exception of old or sick people that we obviously mistreated by the previous type of government, why oh why is the government giving houses away? Are the people living in there paying anything for it? Or for water and lights (that is if there is any)?

By just simply giving something like a house (nevermind the size or that) to someone who can work and do something, they are simply taking away those people's sense of responsibility and maybe even some of their pride.

I pay through my arse for my house every month. But its ok, because (someday) its mine, I can house my family in it and I want it to look good. If I didn't have to pay for it, well then, ah well, who cares?

Yes, its excellent to give disadvantaged people something to improve their quality of life, but with that should come responsibility, so that they can develop a sense of pride for what they have accomplished. And that will hopefully inspire them to accomplish more, and once that happens this country will take a turn and go up and forward.

Paul are you honestly telling me there are jobs for everyone in this country? I see your point but claiming there are jobs for everyone is a bit naive.

You know those guys who sit at garage's everyday and most of the time go home with no job, go tell them they are not trying hard enough bud. Not to mention the influx of zims into this country, what is it 3-5 million so far. Not everyone grows up in a house where they can be educated, so not everyone can get jobs other than the basic maid or gardener. They need to fix the education system and make sure the poor get educated to fix any job related problems. Not everyone grows up in a house with cars that can take them anywhere some have to walk miles to get to get to school.

So do you think that 3.1 mill includes those 7000 houses? I bet it does. So again the ANC is taking credit for something they don't deserve to.

EDIT: And why do you think they fought all the way? Because if people saw the DA were building more houses, they would wake up and go "Hey check it out those right wing racist apartheid politicians aint as bad as Oom Zuma et al say". Why would the ANC fight aginst this.... because we all know what their master plan is... Keep em uneducated, keep them needy and promise them stuff and we keep their vote. :rolleyes:
