Err...

United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Article 19.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

.... "receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers" ....

Being forced to use a company related to the government, instead of having other options sure as hell sound to me as infringement of these rights. Besides the fact that they are a %&^#-up company, there are other reasons to break Telkom's monopoly.

I know Telkom is "an independent entity", but a large share of it is still owned by the government. Furthermore, it can serve as a central choke point for any group, founded within government or elsewhere. In short, the monopoly not only affects people as consumers, but can also possible affect people as citizens, in terms of National Security & Human Rights.
