First off I would like it to be known that I voted DA... so that the next part of my knock on Zille might seem more acceptable.

The ANC won... finished, we need to look up and see what we can do to make things better, but in the meanwhile we have this husky voiced id10t who keeps programming negativity in to the rest of SA...

I say lets give Zuma the chance he deserves, and PLEASE someone put a flippen piece of duct tape over Zille's trap.

Yes, Helen Zille is becoming irritating with her constantly negative comments. Apparently does not like the new cabinet. Put a tape on her mouth.

It is extremely unpopular for you, or anyone for that matter, to suggest that Zuma be given a chance, if you do that then it would mean that you (according to strong Zuma haters) are either stupid, or uneducated, or related to Malema, or will benefit from BEE, etc. I also didn't vote for the ANC, but since I am a democrat, and since Zuma won the elctions fare and square, I will from now onwards judge Zuma for what he does as a president of SA and not for what he did 8/10 years ago.

Hi there my little cherub - I missed you. But I am saddened that your spelling has not improved during your short absence. But I have hope - you, at least, managed to spell Zille's first name correctly. Thank you for that.
 
All for giving Zuma a Chance.. he was not my choice.. but that is what democracy is about... lets give him a chance...

He deserves to be imprisoned for raping the justice system to avoid prosecution for his crimes, not be voted in as president.

How the hell does a scumbag that cheats on his 5 wives and 35 kids with an aids infected young girl, deserve to be president? :sick:
 
I think you wil find that he is very "unpopular" as he should never have been given the chance in the first place. Whether he was guilty or not of the crimes that he has been accused of he should never have been given the opportunity to lead SA. If he had SA and it's people in his interests he should have given up this opportunity. He comes with baggage unfortunately and as long as he is the "President" of SA he will have his detractors, especially those of us who believe in a crime free, transparent, honest (well as honest as politicians can be), hard working government.

Zuma has his chance already as a Minister and then Deputy President. He did neither admirably and in all likelihood was corrupt.

But this is Africa, you gave Bob 47 chances and that worked so well!
 
It is the DA's responsibility to criticize the ruling government as much as possible.

You should start worrying when they stop doing this...

So the opposition party shouldn't oppose the government positions and policies? You should silence all opposition to the government and allow the ruling party to do what they will? You're not quite educated as to how this democracy thing works, are you?
 
Must say I agree with the OP on this one.
If you had listened to old Hellen's tirade this morning about the composition of Zuma's cabinet, you'd have been forgiven for thinking she's starting to lose it. I admire Zille & he DA for the most part, but in this case she simply criticised for the sake of opposition.

Of particular concern is the appointment of Angie Motshekga as Minister of Basic Education and Blade Nzimande as Minister of Higher Education. Angie Motshekga is known for her infamous statement, in defence of Julius Malema, that an education is not a necessary requirement for leadership. Blade Nzimande, as the Minister of Higher Education, is a Marxist ideologue, whose appointment raises concerns about the future of higher education in a global knowledge economy.

Cannot argue with Zille's opinion above. What was Zuma thinking?

We will also watch two critical new appointments very closely, namely that of Ebrahim Patel as the head of the newly created Ministry of Economic Development and that of Pravin Gordhan as the new Minister of Finance. We hope that these appointments do not herald a departure from sound macro-economic policy making and implementation and that there will not be a radical overhaul of economic policy, simply to appease COSATU and the SACP. President Zuma is heavily indebted to both these organisations for his political resurrection, and the Cabinet is clearly structured to repay these debts. If President Zuma was to threaten international investor confidence to repay political debts, it would be a serious setback for South Africa's attempts to weather the global financial crisis and establish a sound basis for future investment and economic growth.

I for one is relieved with Gordhan's appointment. He and Manuel worked very closely together in the past and will most probably continue to do so.

The cabinet announced today needs to be given time to properly judge its performance. The DA for its part will watch each of these ministries very closely and hold them to account for any misstep. We will do everything in our power to ensure that each new minister respects the constitution and that corruption and mismanagement is appropriately dealt with.
