So far, so not bad. After recieving my Neoconnect Prime 15G package a few days late due to alleged delivery problems I am relieved to report I'm happy with what I got.

Certainly a good bang for buck! Live in Amanzimtoti, Durban (the transmitter/tower is supposedly just down the street) and get about 560kb/s with a speed test and up to 90kb/s on torrents with a one bar signal (due to the hole I live in).

Firstly I would like to know if capping is possible? By that i mean if i can ask them to stop me after my 15gb? I've seen on the forum Neotel does not seem to have any sort of usage tracker up yet? Surely they can't charge us for extra usage if we can't even keep track of what we're using!

Secondly, I would much prefer a wireless router than the phone seeing that I just want the package for internet usage. Is there anyway it can be bought or maybe something similar that works? (The extra few hundred bucks for the NeoFlex package just didn't seem worth it to me)

Curiously awaiting some response..

Hi S1lv3r H4wK,

I cannot answer you on the data tracking question, but I have a NeoConnect Prime Unlimited package and I also required a wireless connection.

Incredible Connection had a special on the Dovado 3G router (www.dovado.com) and this was perfect.I plug the phone into it and it shares my connection wirelessly with all my devices without compromising the speed at all.

I see they are also giving them away free now with some USB modem contracts from Vodacom at the Cellucity outlets. You can plug multiple modems into it and use them as failovers if you like.

This router does support the DuPont modem which is what the Neotel phones use, you will just need to upgrade the firmware to 3.0.3 when you unpack it.

It also has a connection tracker which can ping 2 sites at a specified interval and if the ping fails it will try and re-esablish the connection 3 times, if on the 3rd time it fails again, the router is automatically rebooted.

It also has dynamic dns which enables me to VNC into my mac from my iPhone over 3G wherever I am.

Cheers
