How about a dedicated VOIP disccusion forum on MyADSL with list of current providers, what services they offer etc.

Yeah, a VOIP section would be nice.

The RSS feed idea is great, It will definately be of value to all people involved

The advertisting has gotten out of hand on this forum though (derails a little), It really grinds me. They should pay or p*ss off. There are plenty users with companies etc and you dont see all of them overrunning the forums with useless junk about their mickey mouse companies selling smack.

/edit
It really does irritate me :p

Think a moderate amount of advertising is ok (ie maybe in sig), but yeah there will be fierce competition for sure and discussion between end users and VANS.

Would much rather go with a service provider that indulges in public debate.

Hmm actually another idea would be to have a seperate "Advertising" section in addition for generall broadband / internet type advertising.

I am for creating a VOIP section where all the related issues could be discussed. VOIP is very new in this country, and I have a lot of questions around the technology, and I am quite sure that there are a lot of members in this forum that has the same questions.

I am against outright adevertising but would still like members to have the freedom of discussing different service offerings openly on the forum as I think it is in everyone's benefit.

Agreed, my "issues" with advertising on the forum are when people jump on a thread with magick solutions to everything and all you have to do is sign up with their 1 week old company.

As for the signatures etc, Thats perfect, its just when the thread gets hijacked that I get a little irritated, im sure you guys remember the" realexchange" gang, those fools hijacked half the threads trying to solve everyones problems with their company.

How about we wait and see how many threads related to VOIP pop up in the next week or two and then decide what to do from there?
