Not sure if I should post this in the gaming section or here – please forgive.
My Asteroids screen just said goodbye. Originally this was a black and white vector CRT tube.
I replaced it with a 21” Dell colour which did the job for a few years….until now.

Where oh where can I find a 21” CRT these days?
Thought of swapping to a LCD but here’s problem:
LCD speed is pathetic compared with CRT and when I shoot and the rocks move I don’t want to get a ghosting trail. Whats more the resolution is 320 X 240 .
Now I have not tested on 21/22” LCD, but from past experience it will either auto resize so the picture is a tiny block 5cm X 5cm or I’ll get no pic at all except for the banner bouncing around the screen informing me of whatever the optimal resolution is – like Samsung screens like to do.
It is running on a MAME simulator on a pc yes.
Am I screwed? Any ideas or suggestions would be cool.
I’m starting to toy with a TV card idea and forcing a 54cm TV into the cabby instead, without killing myself in the process.
Thanks.
