Hi all

I've been off the wires for a couple of months and I need to get some prepaid again, but first I'd like some advice from the shrewd users here:D.

I previously used SAIX and IS semi-shaped from Axxess. At one point the semi-shaped seemed to be really good (fast download, low latency during and after hours), but I've just loaded a 1Gb bundle and I'm really under-whelmed by the performance, even over the weekend.

Is SAIX shaped giving good performance, and does the choice of ISP influence performance (should mention I'm okay with Axxess' service to date)? I think unshaped is too expensive for my requirements. Any good deals on prepaid that I may have missed reading about here? Right now I'm paying Axxess R69 for 1Gb semi-shaped. I thought it was a bargain, being the same price as SAIX shaped, but looking at the performance I can see it should NOT cost more!

BTW, this for use on a 4mbps line.

Thanks
Graham

I'm wondering if there is anyone doing SAIX Unshaped prepaid, where only the local is unshaped and the international is shaped. Want it purely for local gaming.

I don't know why we have to pay for local traffic anyway.

you will always pay for investments in infrastructure.

it is unrealistic that local bandwith will be free in the next 5 years.
Our market is not nearly mature enough. Think about the implications, by making local traffic free, all the local downloads could cripple Telkom's network. It is quite normal for a company like Telkom to ask a Premium.

I do agree that we pay to much though.
