For those of you that paid your DStv subscription via a debit order lodged on a credit card, you must check up on the following:

Multichoice sent out a notice that this facility will be cancelled from the 1st of May and you must now either do the payments for the subscription manually, or lodge the debit order on a different type of account.

I paid the subscription for May via an EFT on the 4th of May and on the 5th of May the debit order was requested again, which means I paid the subscription twice.

My payment history on their Website only reflects the EFT payment for May however and not the debit order payment, although it went through.

Eish Multichoice!

Update: I am not the only one who is upset because they 'broke' something that worked just fine. From other postings in the forum I get the feeling this was done because a lot of fraud was being committed with the credit cards. Some cases even involved their own call center agents keeping records of the credit card details.

Go to your bank and make them issue a charge back for an unauthorised transaction. Make a posting on Hello Peter too. www.hellopeter.com

Def...

I'm also livid with MC at the moment, and they will be getting a blasting tomorrow...

They also don't accept cash at their sub-branches either. You have to drive out to frikkin N1 City to pay that way!
