The best and worst IT companies

There are some funny results there. I, for instance, would not place Cell C above Vodacom. I guess complaints on websites aren't always a 1:1 version of what really happened.

Based on the complete contradiction between the two surveys, I don't see how they can be accurate.

Cell C have a smaller customer base so will have fewer complaints, so they might resolve fewer than Vodacom, but because they are working off a smaller base their percentages would be higher.

Please note that MTN is not in the top four of companies that do respond....

MTN responds but really doesn't - but I would suspect of the 3 cellular companies it service must be the worst. I just went through a horrible upgrade experience, a friend through a horrible porting and billing problem experience and these queries just didn't get resolved. I would actually like to see statistics of "all companies", "complaints" and seriousness of the complaint (as judged by an independent person). Or more interesting I would like to see the number of court cases against cellular companies and the outcome of these court cases...

Nope, CellC is by far the worst.

Worst service, rude call center, untrained call center, useless shops (you cant do ANYTHING other than sign up in a cellc shop), bad relations with resellers of packages.

If you actually came to the stage where you talked to a living person that could be rude to you then CellC is a lot better than MTN already :-)

Even if you managed to speak to somebody in MTN they will not be rude to you - they will straight out lie. "Yes sir, we reserved a phone for you." or "Get this phone on AnyTime 500 for R500 p/m.".

It's GetClosure, not GetCloseSure >.<

Absolutely shocking

Checked out the IT companies, it's a really silly list. I mean the services that they provide are all so disparate that doing a side by side comparison is actually moronic.

These sites statistical data cannot be relied upon - their purpose should be to encourage the improvement of service levels.

However, I'm not sure if "blackmail" is the way to go about it; but if that is what it takes to improve service it does paint a rather bleak picture of service levels in this country.

CellC might have more problems and complaints but their customer service is really great - they always call you back and they really try to help you. I have not had that from MTN or Vodacom.

worst of all

Mirror Mirror on the wall who is the worst company of them all:

It's Telkom

You are entitled to your opinion.... Personally I have had excellent service from them since 1986 when I first applied for my own telephone line!

Telkom service has actually improved dramatically over the past few years. Does anyone remember the days when it would take a month or more to get a phone line installed and more than 3 weeks just to get a technician to look at the line let alone fix it.

Sure, there are still isolated problems, as with most companies, but overall they have improved hugely.

Cell C have less complaints because they have less customers...

If 3 in 10 of your customers complain and you have 100 000 cusotmers is going to be less than if 1 in 10 of your customers complain and you have 1 000 000 customers.

Service level improvement inversely proportional to decrease in number of fixed lines to service?:p

Well i honestly think they got there facts mixed up about Cell-C...

And Dell........ wonder if they ever deal with them in the corporate world...

I would agree with this. Telkom's service is much better than it used to be. But some of their departments are still terrible. I think they're trying to improve, but they've got this culture of uselessness burnt into their employees brains. Gonna be hard one to get rid of. Some of their people are actually really nice, and pleasant to talk to, and helpful. And they actually return your calls and emails. But other's just dont give a ****.

But this is Telkom's own fault - why'd they let it get out of hand. They allowed this culture to takeover inside their company. I would really like to see them improve, even though I hate them so much. I hate iBurst and Neotel way much more then Telkom.
