Pre and post comments on SA/Government actions

Don't you find it interesting that when a minister makes positive comment on promises to be delivered with regard to public matters be it telecommunication industry or affairs related to economy etc you get a lot of criticism in this forum and a lot of 'enough of promises, we want actions'. Then when the promise is accomplish and evidently all seem according to what was promised, you hear non credit given and acknowledgment to show appreciation? I know there's lot of unfulfilled promises but people maybe we should comment when the good is done. One example is the performance of bafana-bafana, i bet if they win someone here will still try to find fault ... yay! or there wont be a thread of jubilation and accreditation, i get a feeling this forum was built under bases of criticism on issues of affairs within the country ...

Dude, if the Bafana, Bafana win good stuff but wtf man? A sports team winning is hardly the same as broken promises or fulfilled promised from the government?

Pessimism is a way of life in this country. :o

But TBH, the goverment has done very little to inspire optimism from citizens in general, never mind the likes of those that lurk on this forum. I like to say the goverment behaves like a lazy student with academic stuff, they do just enough to scrape by, when they are capable of SO MUCH more.

what constitutes a good approach/healthy environment especially when a governmental transition has just happened (elections)? i mean what made Obama popular anyway, is it what he did before and after he took over or what he said/promised? ANC is still ANC but with new leadership with a whole new approach, isn't that enough to credit with less criticism .. .. politics are all about promises than actions anyway :(

I disagree, politicians make promises about things they can deliver if elected into office, then when they are elected, they should deliver on what they promised. Which is where the problem lies with the ANC, IF they could just STFU and DELIVER what they promised to people, we would be a lot better off IMO.
 
But Bafana Bafana haven't done well. They are in the semi finals based on some serious luck. All they did was defeat New Zealand who are ranked 86th or something in the world and who don't give a crap about soccer.

If, and this is a big if, they do beat Brazil tonight, I'll be one of the first to congratulate them. But since they have done nothing noteworthy the last 10 years, I don't give a crap.

And as previous posters in this thread have asked: WTF does Bafana Bafana have to do with the incompetence of our government?

Appreciation for what? You don't get a pat on the head just for (finally!) doing your job.

If you want appreciation you need to earn it.

Football is mainly a black sport in SA, the majority of the population is black, the majority of voters are therefore black and therefore BAFANA=ANC?

Conversely so with the SPRINGBOKS?

Good logic there mate, although partly true... not good logic, tis the same with my sig...

You are confusing sports and politics, although a big thing in SA, sport has got sweet **** all to do with how the country is run...

A good job done, by our Government, sorry, but I am unaware of such an event ever occuring. This thread needs more examples!
 
Wait wait wait, sure a Soccer team that always loses except to a team that is 86+ worst in the world. Wow that is something to brag about.

You want to talk about what the government has done since elected.

1) Eskom prices up.
2) Telkom prices up with no added benefits.
 
If a doctor cuts off the wrong leg, you are gonna complain, and if he cuts off the right leg (shaddup) then you will not complain, nor praise him. Good governance does not need praise, they are there to serve our needs. Praise them for going far over and beyond their duty, maybe, but not for doing the work that they are supposed to do.

DA is a party that can be relied upon (more often than not) - Springboks.
Since the DA has won 2 worldcups, the 7s World series and numerous world records and gold medals in the Olympics (swimming).

Should you not be proud of the DA then?

ANC won african Nation's cup and played brasil pretty well last night ... :D
