Telkom investors voice concern

Instead of being concerned about Telkom's strategy, they should rather be concerned about their management: September is a disaster and should be put on permanent holiday without pay.

Amen to that...
Investing in telkom should be compared to betting on a FAT LAZY OVERCONFIDENT horse on wining a race....

These guys should rather focus on their South African operations rather than Nigeria.

Investing in Telkom is like buying a 1TB hard drive and formatting it using a FAT16 file system, it's just stupid

Comments like this make me want to go buy Telkom shares on the JSE.

From my tiny weeny little bit of life experience regarding shares, more than 80% of the time when somebody tells you something about shares they are wrong. That 80% wrongness is now making Telkom shares look like a freaking bargain.

It seems Mr September agrees with you. Bought almost R1m worth of shares in his personal capacity today and if I'm reading the below article correctly he also got about R1.9m worth of shares in options that vested...

True, but they will only vest in June 2010 if he is still in the employ of Telkom.

The next sens is similar, but this time for the CFO - Peter Nelson.

Ah, so the R1.9 vests later, but the R1m is actual shares that he bought today with his own money? I wonder what he based his decision on. Might be time to buy some shares as well.

Maybe im just putting 2 & 2 together & getting five, but could it be that the new telecomms ministers statement about the telecomms costs in SA having to come down, has something to do do with Eskoms new price increases?
Could it be that Govt & Telkom are feeling the pressure to bring costs down and are trying to secure another source of income in the form of Eskoms higher tariffs before allowing the prices for broadband internet to come to some semblence of normalcy?
i know it sounds radical but one thing ive learnt is that the truth is stranger than fiction
