Getting the best LCD monitor

R2000 for 22 inch are best LCD monitor? Go and look at the price of professional LCD like EIZO.

The prices quoted are in the "Incredible Connection" category. Most 19" screens are around R1500, 22" goes for R1600-R1800 and the 23" Samsung for instance goes for R1800-R1900 now.

I got my 19" LG Flatron from Game for R999 the other day. So R1400 for a 17" 4:3 sounds ridiculous.

hi. wonder if anyone can help me. i want a display solely for my ps3, so has to be full hd with hdmi input.. but im looking at 4k tops.. any ideas?

just be careful. My t260 samsung does not scale 1920x1080 properly if i hook it up to my xbox via hdmi. Its native res is 1920x1200. Most pc widescreen monitors are 16:10. Some new screens have a 1:1 mapping so just check for this

ok thanks so this is full hd and hdmi input? should i be worried about response times and such? and where can i get it? based in dbn

no you should not be worried about response times... Samsung monitors are really a class on its own! Well worth every cent!

Maybe I am wrong, but the article doesnt say anything about the best monitor, nor it gives you any clear idea about monitor choices

I have a 17" CRT 4:3 ratio and I've stuck with it because the definition on an LCD screen doesn't seem to be any better so I have no reason to change. IF my CRT dies and I HAVE to buy an LCD I've noticed there are almost no 4:3 ratio screens, they're all widescreen. And because the widescreen 'looks' smaller I would have to step up to a 19" to get what appears to be an equivalent screen size.
On a slightly different note, I think this 'widescreen' blitz by the marketers has been forced on us to increase sales. If they can create a fashion where we all have to buy a new monitor that's a lot of bucks they stand to make.

Those samsung monitors that Incredible Connection have at the moment look amazing!!!!

I wonder who in their right mind would actually buy the thing from incredible?

Indeed. In Incredible Corruption's defence, the T260 was R3999 for a while, which was not a lot more than most online places.

People that shop at IC want the security of having a brick n mortar shop to go back to should anything go wrong. Not the easiest thing boxing up a monitor and returning it to an online retailer if it breaks...

I replaced my 17" CRT with a 19" LCD and I can't say I miss the screen flicker that it produced at 60hz. Eye strain is no more.

Hey, what's the best/easiest way to clean an LCD screen? Anything around the house that's effective?
