hopefully heaven but probably hell
I am considering getting iBurst from Sentech.

but it seems iBurst sucks even more then Sentech. But WHere I am moving to there is no Sentech coverage so yeah...

Can someone please tell me what kinda of speeds you are experiencing with iBurst and all the other stuff.

Thanks

Well, compared to Sentech now, iBurst still rocks (except for the cap they will introduce)

However, being with iburst and seeing what they can do, I'm not a happy chappy now experiencing crap speeds (crap as in 15kb/s-50kb/s international)

ha ha ha ha...
that aint crap when you are coming from Sentech which is a steady 4.7Kb
And as for the cap I aint care cuz speaking to an Iburst sales person they
said I should get 64K guarenteed when youa re capped so yeah...

Sentech suck and so do Telkom bcuz they cant provide ADSL where I am going so iBurst it is... lets just see if the w*ankers at Sentech let me cancell...

How did you cancel Noone? Did you pay any cancellation fee's?

Provided you stick to HTTP or FTP, you can fly. I almost always get >100KB/s on international multithreaded downloads. Example: I downloaded a 3.6MB file this a.m. in 32 seconds.

With other protocols you may find your wings are clipped.

vowthorn, try it out, but as soon as you have problems, return it immediately

Vowthorn, where about in Kylalami are you? Im situated further down on Main Rd closer to Lone Hill, therefore i connect to the Fourways Indaba Hotel Base station. Since the Indaba bs went up, ive never been happier! Before the Indaba bs went up, i used to connect to the Midrand Water Tower bs - speeds were horrific!! I do have a friend that lives in Kyalami Estates and his speeds are average.

Ive been connected for 3 days solid - managed to pull through 6 Gigs over the weekend without P2P. I reckon give it a shot. You've got 7 days - and there's nothing to lose. PM me if u need anything..

I'm in Kyalami, and I'm enjoying the fast speed of Iburst. vowthorn, you can go for it..try it out for the seven days and if you're not happy, take it back!!!

Back in December my experience was that you did not need LOS, however as of January you would be better off with LOS.

Well I'm not in LOS. And my signal stays 100%. The disconnects seems to be sorted out now (touch wood). DL speeds are way ok for what I'm using it.

not me

hopefully this week... apparently they out of stock with the desktops modems but they said I should be able to collect by the end of the week.

I am currently using a 56K modem cuz Sentech er... cancelled my account very quickly which is groovy :)

That sounds nice. Normally there's all these cancellation fees, etc. Can't remember when last I used a 56K modem!! hehe
