How exactly will that be billed? I'm listening to international radio stations [streamed] through 3G via my datacard and trust me it's like 2MB in 10 minutes. So the radio service itself is free but you still pay through your teeth for the data.... I assume with the Virgin service it's same thing?

Oh wait here's the answer:

The product from Sydus will currently be most attractive in mobile markets such as the US, India, Thailand, Singapore, China, Italy and Australia where service providers offer unlimited data bundles.

So this is obviously NOT for SA *HINT*

Bit of speculation here (it's called 'envisioning', also known as 'wishful thinking') - once marketers realise that in-your-face marketing has another available medium, they'll demand that radio content providers use it. They in turn will pressure the wireless service providers to make the service available. There'll be a ding-dong battle over the cost of the service, but eventually the radio content and wireless service providers will reach a compromise (at the same time adjusting the cost of radio advertising to the marketers), and at the end of the day, the service should be available at minimal or no cost to the consumer...
