Health Dept. Worker Skips Red Light, Kills Child

Childseat car fail. Aren't they supposed to be buckled in?
 
This is scary, what kind of a car seat were they using ? , was it installed properly ? - my daughter rides in the backseat in her carseat, and I ceertainly don't want her flung out if something happens

Indeed, all the blame should be placed on the driver for the incident but if the child seat was installed properly maybe the child would still be alive.
 
Just to add, big up for the lady atleast having a car seat, nothing makes me see red more than some parent letting their children run amok inside a moving car.
 
I asked one such parent that at the local spar, his answer, I only live two blocks down, nothing can happen
 
Was the kid really in the seat?

I know it should insensitive.... the is a tragedy... I hope we all learn from it

Of course it's not important who the person worked for, however it is interesting to know. Why? Because someone working for the health department is a government employee, and as far as I am concerned government employees should be following the letter of the law. Like stopping at red lights.

As for the car seat, I agree all kids of a certain age should be strapped in, however think outside the box for just one second...

If this government employee had actually stopped at the red light the kid would still be safe, regardless of whether they were buckled into a car seat or not.

Accidents happen, with tragic consequences unfortunately however I can't help feeling that this incident is indicative of our government today, where even lowly drivers for the health department disrespect even the most basic simple laws.

Thanks, it's the same as people blaming apartheid...however the difference is I have a valid point ;)

Yes accidents do happen, it could've been a pizza delivery guy who jumped the robot, same result yet it gives the nay sayers less of a bandwagon to jump on. And it's quite saying 'our government' when you aren't even situated here.
 
I don't know there are a few laws I just cant break no matter how hard I try and jumping a red light is one of them. You clearly know that you are doing something wrong so unless there was something wrong with the car, if you ask me the driver some seeeriuaas punishment
 
I mentioned the driver's occupation due to the irony of the matter. The Health Dept. is responsible for saving lives, not taking them.
 
It is vaguely relevant, since the minibus is used as a patient transport vehicle, and clearly the driver was endangering the lives of the patients in the vehicle.

As for the baby seat and the child, if the minibus hit the car fast enough, I don't think any babyseat would have been enough to hold the kid in.. esp if the brunt of the impact is pretty much where the baby seat is.
