Motherboard damaged by scratch - PCB repair?

Hi mates.

i scratched a bit on one side of the holes for the fan.

then i put everything together to test the mobo and it does not display anything.
it powers the mobo, but no display.

symptoms:
- no beep
- cpu gets hot but cpu fan only runs for a few seconds and then stops running. it runs again for a short while when powers off.
- displays nothing
- other than that mobo gets the power (psu fan and all the side fan runs) as well as the leds.

is my mobo dead?? tested with other parts and still no luck.
so i used a flat screw driver to take off the coat on the circuit and it look one is disconnected. (not sure tho')

so my question here is, that are there people who can fix motherboard by resoldering them etc?
 
I know Pinnacle Micro does board level repairs, no idea how much it costs.

Have you got a picture?

If you broke one of the tracks it's not to hard to repair. You will need a fine tip soldering iron, solder and maybe a thin piece of wire depending on how big the gap is.

If the gap in the track is very small just a dab of solder will do. Make sure you expose the track on both sides of the gap so the solder takes. Afterwards a dab of nail polish to cover it so no oxidation occurs should do the trick.
 
Scratching the pcb alone shouldn't do anything.
I have a feeling that there is a bios prob somewhere, or the memory is 'off'.

If the scratch is so deep that you cut a tiny wite in the pcb - then you pretty much ******.

Try reseating the ram and expansion modules, reset the bios.

Try again.

Take a photo so we can see just how big this "scratch" is. If you scratched it while using a screwdriver and mallet combo, then perhaps its not just the scratch causing a problem....

it is actually two lines that are affected.
the first one look as it is disconnected.

Don't be a *****.

Get the Gigabyte GA-EG31M-S2 if you are buying a new board. Send the old one to me if you are still scared.

And how about GA-G31M-ES2C?
It is about R100 less than GA-EG31M-S2.
The only difference I can notice is that GA-EG31M-S2 got the gigabit lan?

Ja, the only difference I noticed spec wise was the Gigabit LAN, go for it.
