It's really happening. Standard Bank was the first to have a chunk bitten out by the Chinese, now Telkom Media is being swallowed. Next, SABC? Eskom? The Chinese are magicians when it comes to coal power stations; they open up more than 60 coal plants a year.

In line with a previous theory of mine; ANC appoints some cronies to top positions in a company. Cronies suck it dry until they've strip mined everything, then sell it to the Chinese for the debt.

Just to be clear: More than 50% of SB is still owned by South Africans, so it's still a South African company.

Not their fault our companies fail at managing themselves and need foreign capital, of which China has plenty plenty of
 
The title of this thread is a bit dramatic. South Africa sold to China? I think not.
 
It seems anything that requires a little bit of thinking to reach a conclusion is labeled a conspiracy theory. When the corporate world went from supplying for a need to creating a need, it opened up a world of incentives and possibilities. As long as someone benefits, it's certainly possible.

Does an external entity benefit from the mismanagement of South Africa, other than ANC maggots? Yes, I think we can all agree on that. Is that benefit large enough to warrant the support of that entity, perhaps in the form of supporting the anti-apartheid regime? I would say that answer is also yes. Now with a retarded ANC government, China can wait for each major corporation to get ruined before buying it for nothing. 1+1=2. Not that hard.

China wants Africa. The whole damn world wants Africa beause their own resources are running out. But now while the West has barrels of debt, China has lots of spare money with which to claim the boundless resources of Africa.
 
Aeron maybe you are not educated enough to realise that outrage at China "buying" Africa is misplaced. The West didn't pay a dime when they carved up Africa like a piece of birthday cake amongst themselves as if the continent were empty of any humans. At least China allows the Africans a choice in the matter.
 
and larrychang I'm sure you are educated enough to know 400 years ago, exploring the world and just taking was the norm. In today's globalized world it's not. Your type of thinking only harbours resentment, totally unnecessary.

Right. Did you choke on propoganda this morning? The average African lives in a shack and doesn't even know what China is. They also don't know how their country is being stolen from them since the governments they trusted enough to elect are selling it off at ridiculously low prices and in some cases even giving away (Zimbabwe).

Where do you think Zimbabwe's arms game from? Those which they used to wreck the country? Your wonderful China, larrychang.

No different to the settlers that purchased vast stretches of land for a pouch of tobacco & a bag of sugar. In retrospect they now call that exploitation, they will wake up in 50-100yrs and call it rape this time round.

And they are buying this with Bogus inflated Dollars which they have excess amounts of, and they are fully aware of these dollars being devalued in the future or even being worthless.

Better buy quickly while 3rd world countries are still willing to accept it. Should be called theft, which is what it is in reality.
