ICASA WANTS our feedback so let's each send in what we think would be best and then our comments will be taken into consideration.

Step 1:
Go to http://www.icasa.org.za/Default.aspx?page=1005 and read it. This page contains all the new regulations that are being worked on, and those documents that ICASA is seeking comments for. Click on: Draft Price Cap Regulations for PSTS - public comment due by 22 March 2005 Word Doc.
Step 2:
It will only take a few minutes to write your details and say for example 'I think Telkom's prices should be set at CPI minus 10% as their prices are already highly inflated, and lowering prices will encourage foreign investment and stimulate the economy - as can be seen in First World countries who have cheap communications. Broadband should be given special attention and ADSL line rental should be done away with as it is the major barrier to entry. With the legalisation of VoIP, broadband and the affordable availability thereof will be key in the uptake of this technology and the introduction of competition for Telkom in the voice communications arena, which may have a positive knock-on effect on traditional voice call prices.'
Step 3:
Use your full real name and contact number. Then email it to [email protected] and cc to [email protected]. If you want to remain anonymous, you must still submit you details and just ask ICASA that you submission remain anonymous.
Step 4:
Click SEND!
It's really not that tough and it will go a long way insofar that ICASA needs public feedback of what to do - they can't just guess. We all know what the answer is so let's tell them what we think, they know Telkom is overpriced so tell them what you think they should do.. c'mon peeps lets put sum effort into this!!
