Apparently, Muslim militants, from a Pro-Taliban organization, attacked Police stations, Churches and governmet buildings.
At least 150 persons died in 2-day time. Most of them were islamist militants, but also about 10 policemen or soldiers.
Kano, Bauschi, Yobe and Borno states were affected by these riots. These Northern states are predominently muslims, but there are large Christian minorities coming from South Nigeria or converted people (most of them by evangelists).
I hope that the large Nigerian communauty in South Africa is not affected by this drama
'Nigeria :
- population : 150 000 000
- Religions : Christians = 55%, Muslims = 45%. 12 States among 36 are ruled by sharia
