While Microsoft is more eviller than Skeletor, Google deserves no loyalty either. They are a hop, skip and a jump away from being an instrument of fascist control.

People don't search the Web anymore; they Google.

When a brand name becomes a verb, its an uphill battle for the competition.

Yahoo way too cluttered, an eyesore.
Bing - just can't get into it.

In Google we trust! :D

Google is a cybergod.

people love it for it's simplicity, tools and ease of use.... and for taking on Microsoft.

I'm praying that the Google OS released next year is good enough to make game developers take notice and start coding for another platform. Google might just have the money and muscle to make this happen.

The reason Google has been so successful is the fact they have focused on their CORE business. Search engine. I am just scared that once they venture out of this CORE focus they might lose the focus and let something slip.

I am glad somebody is going to challenge Bill Gates and his city of hacks, but please let Google not lose focus.

I can't totally agree with the idea that they've concentrated on their core business, ie: the search engine bit.

What they've been doing is branching off into anything and everything that's web based and the like.

GMail, Google Docs, Youtube, GoogleMaps, Android and the G1.

They're into everything and with the money and the way that they've gone about - they're not losing focus by the looks of things.

There are many people that would also argue that Google is evil; the storage of people's search habits and all the other tinfoil conspiracies that go along with it.

Ja, I also disagree with that statement. They DID make search very efficient and very easy... but they ALSO made e-mail, calendar, images and a host of other things easy.

Gmail is my life... and they have resisted forcing me to pay for it. they have increased the amount of storage space needed.

They released android source code and I suspect they will do the same thing with the Google OS.

They run Youtube at a loss when they could be charging people for it.

It's very hard to see malevolent intentions in the light of the above.

We are all very leery of any one organization becoming too powerful, but remember, Internet users are VERY fickle and will move elsewhere at the drop of a hat.

I used Bing less than an hour in total, I've used Google about half or more of my life span. Why would I switch if it works?

I like (and dislike) both... that said, MS products are looking a whole lot better than what Google has on offer. In my opinion (doesn't have to be yours) - Bing is nicer to work with, Windows Live products are kicking ass, and now with Windows 7, I am finding myself using MS products a lot more than before. At this point I seldom use google search any more. On the other hand, I do still use google docs when collaborating online.

I guess they are both evil, and good - in the same way... and it's good to have them competing against each other so that we end up with the fruits of that. I'm not fiercely loyal to either.

The poll needs another option: Just plain yes or no isn't good enough! I'll stay loyal to Google while they stay loyal to their core values... ;)

I`ll use whichever search engine is the best. Currently its Google. Its not loyalty, its common sense.
Why would anyone want to be loyal to a capitalist American company?

Fully agree. That's why I didn't vote. I like Google's service and I actually would love to work for them one day, but that doesn't make me loyal to them. Why would I be loyal to a search engine? That's just daft.

For the next evolution of communications take a look on something coming from Google shortly called Wave at http://wave.google.com take a look at the preview video. This rocks.

It's due out in the next few months, and will be open source.

Umm, what are the other options? That other spawn of Satan search engine?
